I am a PhD student in the Lewis Lab, Department of Genetics, University of Georgia. My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of heterochromatin in the model fungus Neurospora crassa. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the mechanism by which Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) trimethylates lysine 27 at histone 3 (H3K27me3) resulting in gene repression.
