Research Interests:

My research interests lie in understanding the mechanism of sex ratio (SR) meiotic drive.  This selfish genetic element causes complete transmission within males harboring this SR X chromosome, causing them to only sire female offspring due to any Y sperm being destroyed.  I will delve into its mechanistic basis within Drosophila neotestacea in the hopes of understanding how this process of drive works.
