Research Interests:

I’m studying how our anatomy is controlled by gene regulatory networks during embryonic development. My focus is the genital tubercle, the embryonic precursor to the penis and clitoris, which appears to have certain mechanisms of gene regulation in common with the limbs.

I aim to identify which parts of these gene networks are conserved across distantly-related species, thereby uncovering genes with indispensable functions in the formation of these structures.
