A promoter mutation prf1-1 in Arabidopsis prevents the light regulation of profilin 1 PRF1 expression and results in long hypocotyls and upright cotyledons
Prf1-1 mutant seedlings (upper right) have long hypocotyls relative to wild type seedlings (lower left), when germinated and grown on soil for several days. PRF1 is just one of the five profilin genes in Arabidopsis thaliana. Prf1-1 mutant seedlings (right half) have long hypocotyls and upright cotyledons relative to wild type seedlings (left half), when germinated and grown agar.
